Every Campus, Every County

CDKY Congress
The CDKY Congress is a proposal to make sure every chapter has an equal voice in the state organization of College Democrats of Kentucky. Under this plan, each chapter would elect two members, so no campus gets left out and no chapter gets pushed to the side. It is built on the idea that the students doing the work in every corner of the Commonwealth ought to have a real seat at the table.
The Congress would help keep CDKY open, accountable, and better connected to its chapters by giving local members a direct role in oversight, appointments, and appropriations. At the end of the day, it is about building a stronger organization where every chapter stands on equal ground and every voice carries its weight.
Campaign Training and Field Experience
College Democrats should prepare students to become the next generation of organizers and campaign staff. As president, McClain will organize regular training opportunities focused on practical campaign skills such as voter outreach, messaging, event organizing, and grassroots field work.
CDKY will also help connect students with Democratic campaigns across Kentucky that need volunteers and organizers. This will give students meaningful political experience while helping campaigns build stronger grassroots support during election cycles.

Stronger Campus Chapters
Campus chapters are the foundation of the College Democrats of Kentucky. As president, McClain will work with chapter leaders to make sure every chapter has the support it needs to stay active and visible on campus.
This includes regular communication between chapters, shared organizing resources, and encouraging each chapter to host events, meetings, or organizing activities throughout the year. Stronger chapters will bring more students into the organization and create a stronger statewide network.
